WiseTech Global has partnered with Hapag-Lloyd to pilot real-time IoT container tracking, marking a major step forward in global supply chain visibility and data-driven logistics.
Under the initiative, Hapag-Lloyd has equipped about 2 million containers with smart IoT devices that send frequent location and movement data into WiseTech’s logistics platforms. Advanced algorithms process millions of data points daily, turning raw signals into meaningful insights for decision-making.
The pilot goes beyond traditional milestone updates by delivering real-time position, transit condition data, and predictive arrival times (Live ETA) — helping logistics teams anticipate delays and anomalies more accurately.
This data will be accessible through WiseTech’s ecosystem, including CargoWise solutions and other distribution channels like GLO, INTTRA and Neo, enhancing operational visibility for carriers and forwarders alike.
Both companies will refine the system based on performance at scale and customer feedback, with the goal of integrating seamless, actionable container insights across global supply chains.
